“[The game] will star a female assassin named Aveline, who is of mixed French/African heritage. It will be released alongside Assassin’s Creed III this fall, the story will take place in New Orleans (yes!) during the same time period as Assassin’s Creed III, it’ll have multiplayer, and won’t feature Desmond.
Aveline will meet Connor from Assassin’s Creed III, and her mentor will be an escaped slave, which combined with the location and time period could mean that “Liberation” probably refers to the liberation of American slaves.
The back-touch screen will let you pick pockets, and all of New Orleans will be explorable without any loading screens. It will also take players into Mexico. Oh, and it will feature alligators! ”
Sounds Like Assassin’s Creed Will Debut a New, Female Assassin’s Adventure On The Vita This Fall [ Kotaku ]
/doesn’t even play assassin’s creed
but oh a game that takes in new orleans i’m up for that???
OHHHHH

modernate:Belgian designer Charles Kaisin hosted a dinner during the art brussels fair entitled ‘The Fantasies of Charles’ which included a 10 foot (3 meter) solid oak and beach table. The horizontal surface is supported by several trees down the center of the piece which continue past the top of the work, the branches reaching the ceiling of the space. The trunks take the place of instead of evenly positioned legs in a seemingly random order. While some trees continued upwards, others grow through the surface into candle holders just past the surface of the work, giving the impression that the table top is floating between the foliage.
This is beautiful. ;u;

‘Villa Amanzi’ - by Original Vision
People must’ve seen this somewhere before. This is called the Villa Amanzi, designed by a company called Original Vision. Located in Phuket [P-HOO-ket], Thailand, it’s supposed to be an expansive mansion that houses a good number of people. It supposedly boasts a beautiful view of the beautiful Andaman Sea from all possible vantage points. Strange, though, since there’s a cliff next to it and so many trees, but I’ll take their word for it.
There isn’t much to speak of; it’s merely there to invoke beauty. White and clean, it is reminiscent of van der Rohe’s Farnsworth House, comprising mainly of horizontal planes. The vertical supports are thin or out of the way, serving to convey the feeling of weightlessness. Lucky for the Villa Amanzi, it is hanging over the side of a cliff, so that feeling is much amplified. Ironically, the Villa is also “rooted” to the cliffside; the ‘left’ side of the building basically extends until it reaches a cliff. The result is a mixture of space and air, created through solid, strong means; it’s a perfect mixture for a relaxing inhabitant, who has the space and freedom, yet needs the reassurance of safety.
Since this converted house is only designed with one or two inhabitants in mind, it is much smaller than it actually is. The mountain serves to conceal a storage area; since that is inside the mountain, whatever it looks like is irrelevant. There is an entire bottom level (visible in the original) missing from the current plans; if anyone approaches me with a request for three or more bedrooms, I will gladly rework something!
Height: 11.5+ blocks
Width: 20+ blocks
Length: 21 blocks
Accommodations: Bed/Workbench/Furnace/Storage/Enchanting
As always, message me if you have questions or want more specific details.
Also, if you’re a contractor, I want to build it with you! :D

Heavenly Preen, 7”x8”, 6/2/2012, Drawing
*Please forgive me for the low quality photograph- I just really wanted to share what I’ve been up to since late last night.*I’m calling this early sketch “Heavenly Preen”, but all names are subject to change. My inspiration for this piece was another drawing of mine called “Avio”, which is the bird picture here: http://challart.tumblr.com/post/23949574532/this-is-a-selection-from-my-series-called-cascade .
This time however, I wanted to give Heavenly Preen some of Avio’s original concepts that I was unable to incorperate into Avio due to time constraints and other external factors. When I drew some early sketches of what would later become Avio back in early 2012 I started with the idea of these planetoids revolving around each other. For some reason I just slapped on some wings and absolutely LOVED the results. However by that point Avio had lost most of its celestial qualities and just became this simplistic surreal bird.
So, with Heavenly Preen I started with a planetoid in the bird’s eye and various moon phases revolving around it. Eventually this became the wings of the bird, and the beak became this ziggurat-like shape. Avio’s beak was intended to be a ziggurat, but again time constraints and scale limited me.
I intend fully to color this sketch later on in my usual monotone color scheme. Any thoughts on the color? Send me an ask!
